Interactive talks

I love engaging audiences with interactive talks that are relevant, memorable and entertaining.

My talks are always interactive. I get people moving, chatting, laughing, playing at their creative edge and learning together.

Topics close to my heart include radical co-operation, putting imagination to work, being in the moment and the power of collective intelligence and social networks.

I often use the language and skills of improvisation to bring ideas to life.

I also work as a creative facilitator and trainer so I’m used to designing and delivering sessions at events, conferences and away days.

If you’d like to me to speak at your event then drop me a note.

Keynotes talks

There are four main topics that I cover, and I’d be happy to talk you through them in more detail.

1

Radical co-operation

Our #1 human superpower is co-operation. It’s the beating heart of teamwork, and yet we rarely take the time to develop this ability.

The world of improvisational theatre has something to offer here. Through playful games and ‘drills’ improvisers hone their ability to co-operate in conditions of uncertainty and these skills can be applied to help anyone get better results from teamwork.

This is an energetic, interactive and humorous talk that gets people connecting, laughing and learning skills that make all the difference to everyday leadership and teamwork.

2

Put imagination to work

Let’s look at the attitudes and behaviours that stamp out creativity, and stamp them out instead (in the nicest way possible!).

Innovation and creativity are essential for our progress, so let’s explore how the language and skills of improv can help by supporting idea-friendly workplaces. We’ll discover that everything’s an offer, mistakes are gifts, and we feel more alive when we bring our creativity to work.

This talk can also be delivered as an interactive workshop using creative thinking to generate solutions to live challenges.

3

Being in the moment

Every moment is an opportunity to build relationships and step into change. And yet we often miss these moments because we stick to a rigid plan or get lost in thought.

When we learn to be present in the moment we can be more productive without trying harder, find more aliveness, and respond fluidly to circumstances beyond our control.

In this talk we’ll explore practices for being more grounded, resilient and authentic in everyday life, and explore how the skills improvisers use on stage can help anyone step into the moment with confidence.

4

The network always wins

Networks are everywhere: from the human brain and the internet and distributed teams at work, but events, conferences and away days are often run in a ‘one-to-many’ format from the front of the room.

This isn’t how we do our best work. So this highly interactive session gets people engaging with the themes of the day and interacting as an intelligent network in real time, in the room.

This one is ideal for when you want to help people to connect with each other and the topic using the speed, scale and power of a network.
