What I'm doing now
Group facilitation
Recent workshops with the NHS, UNiversity of Suffolk, Mid Suffolk District Council and Community Climate Action all went well – I’m still passionate about forming intelligent networks and letting them do their thing. It just works!
Not much coming up in August and I’m away in France for a few weeks.
Meanwhile I’m adding more activities, processes and games to the resources page on this website. It’s taking a while as I keep remembering more!
Creative learning
I’ve got a couple of sessions for team building and connection coming up, with one for a team of three. That will be an interesting challenge.
I’m really into the intersection of play and mindfulness and I’ll be repeating a recent workshop I ran in London called The Way of Play in my home town of Woodbridge in Suffolk on 17 August.
I’m also running a short course this autumn called Mindful Improv for Coaches. It’s for coaches, therapists, counsellors – anyone who holds space for others and wants to explore presence, play and connection in creative group work.
Here & Now People
My improv community in Woodbridge is growing really well and we’ve had some great shows lately.
The next show is on 28th November and we have a Beginner’s Course starting on November 16th. See What’s On for details of classes and shows.
If you like, you can sign up for the Here & Now People newsletter about joyful and mindful improv, and awakening your playful spirit.
Being human
I’m reading with my friend Eduardo Jauregui’s new book: Playfulness. I’m developing The Way of Play with Ed and he makes the bold claim that “Play is a matter as serious, even MORE serious, than work, politics, science, art, or even spirituality.” He’s such a great writer – he makes a big argument in such a fun way.
I’m also into the work of Joe Hudson at the moment. His prompting that emotional avoidance underlies all of our ‘stuck’ patterns and encouragement to feel feelings and let them move has beena. great help to me.
The garden has settled into that mellow fruitfulness of autumn and all my ornamental grasses are in flower and swaying in the breeze.
