Team connection

Most teams don’t lack talent — they lack connection.

Meetings slip into routines, ideas get stuck in silos, things go unsaid, and the spark that makes teamwork exciting starts to fade.

That’s where I come in. I help to unlock the kind of presence, connection and playfulness that let’s everybody’s talent shine.

My talent is helping teams find their rhythm: cutting through old patterns, sparking fresh ideas, and building the kind of trust that makes being in a team enjoyable and rewarding.

If you’re looking for a team connection event, a half-day reset, or a longer journey to find a higher gear, drop me a line.

"A rare mix of insight, creativity and humour."

“Alex was a delight to work with and provided a rare mix of insight, creativity and humour.”

“The result was a stronger sense of team identity, purpose and values and the sessions were challenging and fun in equal measure which helped us shift up a gear.”

What can we do together?

1

60 minutes

In an hour I can run a session to  connect and revitalise people at a lunch & learn session, or help people play, unwind and enjoy each other’s company after work. Either way we’ll have a fun and laughter-filled time together, and your group will learn about calm and confident connection in some memorable ways. This session can be delivered as a mini-workshop or an interactive talk (but never as a lecture!).

2

90 minutes

In 90 minutes I’ll get people connecting and collaborating in ways that build trust and confidence. We’ll explore what happens when we block each other’s insights, ideas and feelings. And to counter that we’ll explore ideas, skill s and behavious that support collaborative thinking and authentic connection in everyday working life. This is an ideal session as part of an away day, annual gathering or conference.

3

Half day

With more time we can open up the space to build skills for confidence, communication and creativity. We can also go deeper into what is needed to elevate connection, engagement and performance for the team. We’ll also have more time to apply the learning to everyday life. Half a day is ideal for a team away day for any team that wants to reset, or find a higher gear.

4

Full day

A full day lets us dive deeper into areas like leadership, communication  and co-creation skills and explore what new story for collaboration could look like. We’ll laugh together and have plenty of fun, and as seasoned facilitator (salt, pepper and a bit of chilli) I’ll hold space for the meaningful conversations you need to have. A full day is suitable for away days, retreats, off sites, ongoing development programmes, CPD and wider change initiatives.

Hello, I'm Alex

I help teams make work feel more human, more connected, and more alive.

In team connection sessions I’ll help your team:

  • Shake off tired patterns and start connecting and collaborating in ways that get better results

  • Celebrate all your strengths and build on them

  • Notice the culture that’s already there — and create the culture you really want.

I bring from building and managing teams, supporting global companies with strategy and innovation, facilitating corporate learning programs, and over a decade performing and teaching improv in the UK and Europe.

A rehearsal room for life

We need spaces where we can connect, learn, create, play, explore, practice, relax, share and simply be together.

I tend to think of team connection events as a rehearsal room where we close the door, come together, and prepare for what’s ahead.

I use lots of different activities and processes with teams – and quite a few are are specially adapted from the world of improvisational theatre – for use in the real world!

Improv is one of the most powerful tools I’ve worked with – it brings learning to life in a way that nothing else really touches because it lets people feel what we’re talking about, and play around with new ideas and behaviours.

And when people are playing — paying close attention, co-operating, experimenting, taking risks, and letting go of getting it “right” — things shift. People listen differently, show up differently, and connect in a deeper way.

"Improvisation is one of the two or three cardinal skills for people to learn in future."
