Thinking Differently
The most important challenges we face can’t be solved by working harder. They need better thinking.
I help leaders, teams and communities think differently about complex challenges so they can build better places, communities and futures.
It’s not about chasing novelty for it’s own sake. It’s about creating the conditions for people to notice more, connect ideas, explore relationships, challenge their assumptions and discover ways of moving forward together.

Working better together
The work I do isn’t really about creativity or innovation. It’s about helping people work better together.
For me, the best moments in a workshop aren’t usually the ones I’ve planned – they are when when people build on each other’s thinking, and find new ways forward that were’t available to anyone at the start.
That’s why I love designing and facilitating workshops – it’s to see creativity and collaboration come together.

My approach
I’ve spent more than two decades exploring how people learn, create and collaborate together in ways that feel more alive.
That journey has taken me through organisational and leadership development, creative problem-solving, service design, improvisational theatre, storytelling, large group dialogue.
Rather than arriving with a fixed approach, I design experiences for workshops, off sites, and longer programmes that invite people to slow down, become curious, think critically and creatively, and (I hope!) discover what’s possible together.
Every situation and every group is different. So, sometimes those experiences are playful, or reflective, or they may draw on somatic wisdom. Sometimes they challenge long-held assumptions. And sometimes they draw on thinking with living systems.
Whatever the approach, my aim is to create the conditions where people can participate more fully and think differently together.
"Alex's style, consideration and emotional intelligence are hugely beneficial for strategy development and team building."
