Team coaching

Sustainable performance comes from how people relate to one another.

With that in mind, I work with teams through a series of coaching sessions that help people get closer together and increase their impact as a team.

This isn’t a one-off intervention — it’s a systemic approach that creates the conditions for trust, shared thinking, and more effective ways of working.

If you’re looking to build a stronger team — get in touch.

"The result was a stronger sense of team identity, purpose and values."

“Alex was a delight to work with and provided a rare mix of insight, creativity and humour.

The result was a stronger sense of team identity, purpose and values and the sessions were challenging and fun which helped us shift up a gear.”

Head of Innovation, New Anglia

What this work is about

This works brings together systemic coaching with hands-on learning to create a space for leaders and teams to:

  • understand themselves and each other more deeply

  • improve the way they communicate and collaborate

  • navigate challenges with better results

  • build trust, openness and shared responsibility

It’s not about quick fixes or imposed models — it’s about taking the time to help teams develop their own awareness, shared values, and ways forward.

How it works

We meet regularly over six months, creating a rhythm of reflection and development alongside the team’s day-to-day work.

Sessions are shaped around what’s live and relevant, which might include:

  • how the team is communicating and collaborating

  • how conflict or tension is showing up in decisions

  • how roles, responsibilities and expectations are evolving

  • how the team wants to work together going forward

Each session creates space to notice what’s happening, experiment with new ways of working, and make practical shifts.

I bring 25+ years experience of leading teams, facilitating groups in global companies, delivering corporate training, and a decade of teaching improv comedy. Find out more here.

"Alex's style, consideration and emotional intelligence are hugely beneficial for strategy development, team building and coaching."

Team connection events

I also offer shorter, standalone sessions — from an hour to a full day — for teams who want to reconnect and re-energise, or experience this work in a more focused way.

1

60 minutes

In 60 minutes we can connect and revitalise people at a lunch & learn session, or help people unwind and enjoy each other’s company after work.

Either way we’ll have a fun and laughter-filled time together, while exploring what happens when we connect with more lightness and playulness.

2

90 minutes

In 90 minutes we can get people connecting and collaborating in ways that build deeper trust and confidence.

We’ll explore what happens when we block each other’s ideas, insights and feelings — and what’s possible when we offer each other more attention and support.

This is an ideal session for an away day or conference.

3

Half day

With more time, we can open up the space to explore behaviours that build stronger relationships at work.

We’ll also go deeper into the mindset that takes team performance to another level.

A half day works well for teams who want to reset, reconnect, and find a higher gear.

4

Full day

A full day allows us to create an experience of collaboration at its best using techniques from applied improvisation.

We’ll also make space to explore knotty issues, and what feels most alive for the team.

A full day works well for away days, retreats, off sites, CPD and wider change initiatives.

"Alex has a unique way of getting the best out of people."
